Small businesses often struggle with acquiring new clients and customers. At times, it feels as though you have spent a lot of time, energy, and effort but the investment refuses to pay off. Don’t be discouraged! There may be no infallible recipe for winning more clients, but there are certainly plenty of methods that can help you get more customers for your business. Take a look at the four tips below.
Table of Contents
1. Partner with agencies
Already built partnerships with some of the agencies in town? Maintain those relationships well. Sometimes, agencies will turn down a prospective client but then refer the same client to a company within their network. This is where you come in. If you regularly maintain great partnerships with agencies, it’s likely the agencies will refer new and prospective clients to you. So don’t hesitate to approach agencies! Send them personalized emails, offer to partner with them or take on any work they pass up. With luck, some of them will respond to you.
2. Don’t wait for referrals, just ask
Referrals may be the most obvious way to get new clients. Unfortunately, some people wait for referrals rather than actively chase for them. While a portion of happy clients will voluntarily spread your name, a big number will find themselves too busy to do so. Creating a marketing campaign where current clients win rewards when they refer new customers to you is a good idea. If you can’t sustain a campaign, try communicating with satisfied clients via email and ask them if they know someone who would find your product or service helpful.
3. Start blogging
Are you familiar with the term “SEO”? Utilizing SEO is a great way to get your business visible in the digital world. Consider blogging; write about topics related to your business. Perhaps you’re running an online shop that sells women’s clothes. Blog about how to mix and match colors or fashion tips in general. But you need to blog consistently and utilize SEO keywords in order to drive traffic and convert the traffic into clients. Blogging may not be instant fix, but do it consistently and the efforts will be worth it.
4. Co-working? Why not?
If you work from home, consider co-working at least once a week. Co-working spaces increase your chance of meeting like-minded people and enable you to build relationships with them. Also, take advantage of spaces that host cool events related to your business. They can be great platforms for connecting with new people and getting your brand out there.
Besides the four tips mentioned above, you can also take advantage of social media. For instance, try posting a story about a successful customer to attract potential clients. On the other hand, social media can be a great networking tool to meet new people. Good luck in getting new clients for your business!
